Week 2 assignment- Video observation

As I watched the video of the student reading the text, I was able to assess were he is holding and what his strengths and weaknesses are. This student reads in a confident manner. He read the text fluently  and accurately with proper expression, pausing in correct places. However, I noticed that he tended to read automatically without paying attention to the actual words on the paper. A few times he added extra words that made sense in the story, but were not written in the text. For instance, he added "our" and said "sister" instead of brother. Therefore, I would focus on reading every single word in the story and paying attention to reading the words of the text.

In this lesson students will work together to create a found poem.   This develops student’s creativity and helps them be insightful readers. In addition, students will gain the skills to collaborate with their peers and work as a team. Activities: In this lesson, the activities are clearly aligned with the learning outcomes, objectives and standards. Instructional grouping: This lesson includes independent, group work and whole class instruction to enable students to learn effectively. Once students choose their words and phrases independently for the found poem, they share the words that they chose with a peer they are grouped with.
